Stuffed Idli Recipe











Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice
  • 1/2 cup Urad dal
  • A pinch Soda bicarb
  • Sal to taste.
  • FOR THE STUFFING:
  • 1/4 cup Coconut (grated)
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Almonds (chopped)
  • 2 tsp Cashewnuts (chopped)
  • 2 tspRaisins
  • 1/4 Nutmeg (powdered)
  • 1/4 tsp Cardamon (powdered)
  • Chpped coriander for garnishing
Method:
  1. Wash and soak rice and dal seperately for 8 hours.
  2. Grind the rice and dal seperately to a fine paste.
  3. Add the soda bicarb, salt and mix thoroughly.
  4. Melt the sugar on low flame and add grated coconut, chopped almonds, cashewnuts,raisons, nutmeg powder, and cordamom powder to it.Mix well.
  5. Grease idli stand bowls with oil, fill half with the batter, spread mixture (stuffing) on top, cover again with more batter nicely and steam till the idlis are well cooked.
  6. Garnish with chopped coriander.
  7. Serve hot with sauce.
