Ingredients
- 1 cup rice
- 1/2 cup Urad dal
- A pinch Soda bicarb
- Sal to taste.
- FOR THE STUFFING:
- 1/4 cup Coconut (grated)
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Almonds (chopped)
- 2 tsp Cashewnuts (chopped)
- 2 tspRaisins
- 1/4 Nutmeg (powdered)
- 1/4 tsp Cardamon (powdered)
- Chpped coriander for garnishing
- Wash and soak rice and dal seperately for 8 hours.
- Grind the rice and dal seperately to a fine paste.
- Add the soda bicarb, salt and mix thoroughly.
- Melt the sugar on low flame and add grated coconut, chopped almonds, cashewnuts,raisons, nutmeg powder, and cordamom powder to it.Mix well.
- Grease idli stand bowls with oil, fill half with the batter, spread mixture (stuffing) on top, cover again with more batter nicely and steam till the idlis are well cooked.
- Garnish with chopped coriander.
- Serve hot with sauce.
